Here it is, food blog number three million four hundred thousand twenty six!
So,
why should you follow it, share it, comment it, hate it or love it?
Well... not sure, really, but I hope you will like it, comment it and share it, because this blog is about my way of living when it comes to food and cooking.
I am no chef and the world is
full of great ones. They make amazing dishes and things you and I will
never be able to prepare. But they are there, in the restaurants we take
our wives and girlfriends for Valentine's day - when they are lucky. But
they are definitely not in our kitchen when we get back home at 20.00
after some pointless overtime, the gym or 5-a-side football! That's
what this blog is about: simple everyday cooking.
This blog is also about all the other aspects of the cooking universe, though. Cooking starts outside the kitchen, in the markets, at the butcher or fishmonger.
Cooking is improvising and making variations, opening the fridge, seeing
what's left, typing it into google and make up a new recipe mixing
those 5 you found online - as they all have an ingredient you are
missing or they just make it look too complicated. Cooking then reaches
the kitchen, where the tools you use can make a simple dish a disaster
and a difficult one an easy trick.
That's maybe what
this blog is about: the recipes, but also the tools, the markets but
also the products and the methods and the tricks and everything I
learned in years of everyday cooking of an Italian food lover living in the UK.
If you live of ready meals and takeaways, maybe this blog will help you extending your life expectancy. If you already cook regularly, maybe you will learn some new tricks and recipes, or if you are a chef, well, maybe you can add comments here and there and give me some tips!
Enjoy!
Luca
